We all love cupcakes but the current wrappers pose a serious issue as they can’t be recycled posing a risk for contamination and contributing to the surplus of landfill whilst encouraging an insufficient use of resources. Consumers are demanding more sustainable products, and my MDP aims to fit within the circular economy of eliminating waste whilst encouraging people to get involved in baking!
I have created a biodegradable cupcake wrapper made from simple and gluten-free ingredients including tapioca and potato starch, brown rice flour, vanilla extract and water. These cases can be eaten, instilling fun and sustainability into baking!
